Freshman Seminar: Noodle Exhibitions


On March 16, students from our Spring 2016 freshman seminar course celebrated the diversity of noodles by holding a noodle exhibit. Nine types of noodles were featured in this exhibit, including Dandan noodle and Lanzhou Pulled Noodle of China, Naengmyeon (cold noodle) of Korea, Singaporean Street Noodle, manicotti and fusilli of Italy. Students also brought homemade noodle dishes to share. Students showcased their noodle exhibition posters at a second public event on April 5th, 2016 during Emory University’s weekly farmer’s market.  During this event they shared information with the community about the Italian and Chinese practice of cooking healthy meals with family and friends using locally grown and produced food sources.  Students also spoke about the medicinal qualities of Chinese food.  Photos from both events are below:
